What is a US Double Crochet/ UK Treble Crochet?

A US double crochet (abbreviated as dc) or UK treble crochet (abbreviated as tr) is one of the most common crochet stitches. It’s taller than a single or half double crochet and creates a soft, open fabric—great for blankets, garments, and accessories.

✨ How to Make a US Double Crochet:

1. Yarn over (wrap the yarn over your hook).

2. Insert your hook into the stitch or space indicated.

3. Yarn over again and pull up a loop (you’ll have 3 loops on your hook).

4. Yarn over, pull through 2 loops (2 loops remain).

5. Yarn over again, and pull through the final 2 loops.

You’ve now made a double crochet stitch!
